Key ‘Game Of Thrones’ Character Hints That They Won’t Be Returning For Final Season

Game of Thrones is notorious for its merciless character deaths. Unlike many other popular franchizes, its producers and writers have no qualms about killing off characters that fans have come to know and love. When Stannis Baratheon sacrificed his innocent daughter Shireen to the Lord of Light, fans were outraged. He did this so that he would be granted a miracle to help him continue his march to Winterfell to face the Boltons. Usually when a character is a protagonist, they are considered to be safe, but even this isn’t the case in Game of Thrones, and many long-standing characters have been killed off, and, in Jon Snow’s case, brought back to life. The penultimate season of the show may have drawn to a close, but now speculation is rife about the characters who may or may not be coming back for its final season, and one of its actresses has hinted that she won’t be returning. One of the biggest plot lines of the latest season was centred around Brandon Stark. He is now the three-eyed raven, and his ability to see, well, everything is going to be crucial in the Great War between the living and the dead. Before Bran was the three-eyed raven, he had a lot of people help him after he was crippled by the Lannisters. These included the late Hodor, Jojen and Meera, who helped him to find the original three-eyed raven. Although Jojen and Meera have now parted ways with Bran as he has returned to Winterfell, both characters are very much alive, but the actress who plays Meera has revealed that she is unlikely to return in the show’s final season. “I wait for the phone to ring and then I find out, but it hasn’t rung so I don’t know,” 27-year-old Ellie Kendrick said. “I’ll find out whether I am or not at some point, but for now I haven’t been notified so I’m yet to discover.” Kendrick also said that she doubted that Meera would ever be reunited with Bran after they said goodbye.

“It was a sad day to say farewell to young Isaac [who plays Bran] – not so young now and also very tall, which means he was so difficult to put on the sled, which I actually did, although he’s a lot taller than me. It was really sad on a personal level, because we had a little gang which dwindled further and further as the seasons went on.”

If true, this news debunks the fan theory that Meera’s character was going to be given a much more significant role in the show’s final season. Some fans peculated that she would be revealed as Jon Snow’s secret twin sister. Whatever the case may be, Game of Thrones fans will have to wait with baited breath to discover the truth when the final season airs in 2019. However, with so much time left to film, Meera could still make a return. On the subject of Brandon Stark, this video puts forward the startling fan theory that all problems in Westeros are his fault: These revelations could also be part of an elaborate cover up too, especially if Meera turns out to be Jon Snow’s twin. After all, Kit Harington repeatedly hinted that his character would not be returning after his ‘death’ in season five.
